The Department of Kinesiology offers graduate programs in Exercise Science, Physical Education Teacher Education and Sport Management. In addition, the department offers a variety of sport elective courses available to all students at the university. The dynamic and exciting Exercise Science program is an educationally recognized program (ERP) by the National Strength and Conditioning Association for its outstanding curriculum leading to careers in athletic strength conditioning. The Kinesiology Department houses two state-of-the-art Human Performance Laboratories that feature house metabolic cart systems, body composition technology, an endless pool and electromyography to study muscle physiology first-hand. An internship is required.
Sport Management – Certification
The Sport Management program at AUM will assist students in preparing for sport-related careers. A combination of sport-related coursework and business class work will help develop the knowledge and skills necessary to enter the sport industry. The courses focus on areas such as marketing, facility management, risk management and legal issues, leadership, ethics and others. An internship is required.
