Interested in taking classes at AUM for a semester and transferring them back to your home institution? AUM has a great selection of classes, both online and on campus, to help you make efficient progress towards your degree.
If you are a current AUM student looking to take a class at another institution, please see your advisor for the appropriate form.
If you have already applied to AUM and plan on attending in a different semester, please update your anticipated entry term on your application by completing the Application Update Form or contact our Office of Admissions at admissions@aum.edu or 334-244-3615.
Yes! A streamlined application for transient students is available at www.aum.edu/apply. Make sure you select “Transient Application”.
In addition to filling out an application, transient students will need to include one of the following: 1) high school transcripts showing completion 2) proof of admission to an institution of higher education 3) a college transcript (can be unofficial) or 4) a transient authorization form or letter of good standing from their current institution (usually from your advisor or registrar’s office).
It is important that you meet with your advisor at your home institution (the college/university that you intend to graduate from) to determine the class that is right for you.
Transient students typically are coming to AUM to take class(es) for one semester and transferring those credits back to their “home” institution (the college/university that they plan to graduate from). Transfer students permanently leave their current institution with the goal of finishing their degree at AUM and graduating from AUM.
Current AUM students who would like to take a class at another institution should meet with their advisor to complete a Transient Student Form (available from your advisor) and then follow the application process for transient students at the location where they will be attending.
All class offerings can be viewed on our Dynamic Schedule available at: https://senator.aum.edu/prod/bwckschd.p_disp_dyn_sched. Finding the class you want is easy. Simply select the desired term and enter one or more subject areas. Searches can be further narrowed by using the available filters including schedule type (e.g. lecture, internet, hybrid), preferred days/times, part of term, and instructors.
