Maintaining Teaching Excellence
Online Teaching Certification Program
Program Details
We developed the online teaching certification program to provide robust training opportunities for faculty members who were interested in teaching online courses. We require certification to teach online and hybrid courses at AUM. More than 265 faculty have qualified for online teaching certification.
Required Courses
One FDI Online Certification Course (FDI-1000, FDI-O, FDI-OH, or FDI-Ultra) – Teaching and Learning with Digital Tools
Nine Additional Faculty Development Hours – Nine credit hours must be taken within a three year period to remain certified to teach online. Should your certification lapse, you must take 12 credit hours in order to regain certification.
Online certification is for a three year period. Should the nine additional faculty development hours not be accrued to maintain certification, re-certification must be completed through FDI ULTRA training.
Program Perks
Once you have completed the requirements for certification, you will receive a certificate of completion along with a $300 technology allowance which can be used to purchase software or hardware to assist you in teaching online and hybrid courses.
