Warhawk Health Services can provide the mandatory TB skin test and immunizations listed on the AUM Immunization Form for all incoming students. Students with questions regarding the Immunization Form are encouraged to call Warhawk Health Services. In addition to health services, Warhawk Health Services offers a comprehensive travel vaccine program to AUM’s constituents and community members, as well as in-depth, individualized educational services regarding the vaccines and current CDC travel recommendations.
For a $5.00 co-payment, students can be seen for problem-oriented (sick) visits by a certified registered nurse practitioner. Faculty, staff and dependents’ co-pay is $15. Cost of other services and vaccines vary. Payment may be made with cash or credit card.
Warhawk Health Services is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. during regularly scheduled university semester sessions for currently enrolled AUM students with a valid student I.D.

AUM’s Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP) is serviced by Academic Health Plans through Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama (BCBSAL). Dependent coverage for spouses and dependents under age 19 is also available.
All medical records and health information are strictly confidential. In accordance with the federal HIPAA laws, information will not be released without authorization from the patient, except by court order. You can read our full Privacy Notice.

In accordance with Alabama laws, WHS reserves the right to charge the state recommended fees to send copies of records. However, you can always print or send a copy of your records from your personal Patient Portal account.
Warhawk Health Services does not offer telehealth; however, Telehealth is available 24/7 for students with United Health Care Student Resource insurance available through Auburn University at Montgomery. The medical staff at Warhawk Health Services provides comprehensive health services similar to those provided at any other primary or urgent care clinic.
Yes, WHS can provide referrals to outside providers as necessary.
Note: WHS is unable to provide referrals or order outside radiological studies for those with Medicaid, Medicare, Tricare, or Blue Cross Blue Shield with BEG or PGX prefixes as WHS is not considered a medical home for these insurance providers. Patients with these insurance policies require referrals to come from their primary care physician.
Yes, you will need to send your physician’s order to WHS or bring it with you when you come in. Please call to make an appointment for your lab work by calling 334-244-3281. Once WHS receive your results, we will send them to the ordering physician.
Note: WHS is not responsible for any fees not covered by your insurance company for labs ordered. If you have a question about the bill you receive, seek assistance from the ordering provider.
WHS will publish your results to your secure patient portalaccount. For abnormal lab results, a medical professional from WHS will call you to discuss.
Note: If your lab work was from an outside physician, WHS CANNOT give you those results. The ordering physician will have those results and will be the one to give them to you.
Payment is expected at time of service. However, in special situations, payment arrangements may be available.
Note: WHS is not able to charge to your AUM student account at this time. A hold may be placed on your student account with the registrar if no payment or payment arrangements are made.
While WHS can provide excuses for illness, you must be seen by one of our healthcare providers to be eligible to receive an excuse. Excuses are written at the discretion of the healthcare provider and are not guaranteed. It is the student’s responsibility to make an appointment at WHS that does not conflict with their class schedule.
In addition to serving the student population, WHS also provides healthcare services for AUM faculty, staff, and their dependents ages 1 year and older.
WHS immunization clinic is offered to the AUM community and citizens from the surrounding communities.
WHS welcomes AUM nursing and nurse practitioner students looking to advance their medical careers. WHS aims to provide a valuable experience for our AUM students. However, opportunities and space are very limited. You may call the WHS office to speak with one of our healthcare providers or email them directly for availability.
Lindsey Barton is dually certified in Adult Acute Care and Family Nurse Practitioner. She graduated from Troy State University in 2005 as a Registered Nurse. She specialized in emergency medicine, post anesthesia care, and cardiovascular recovery. She graduated in 2012 from University of Alabama Birmingham as an Adult Acute Care Nurse Practitioner. She worked at Baptist Health for the Hospitalist Group for 2 years. She then went back to UAB and graduated with her Family NP degree in 2015. She has since worked in outpatient medicine with urgent care and family medicine. Since 2017, she has worked as an Adjunct Clinical Instructor for the UAB MSN Program. She volunteers at her church on the medical emergency response team. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and 3 children (all boys). She enjoys attending church, traveling, snowboarding, and running.
