Dean's Office
The College of Education Dean’s Office oversees the three academic units and their programs; furthermore, it is responsible for the Early Learning Center and all administrative support in the areas of assessment, evaluation, advising, and certification. The Dean’s office collaborates with local businesses and the educational community for the purpose of creating and enhancing partnerships and student placement opportunities for internships and field experiences. Special Undergraduate Certificate Program
The Alabama State Department of Education (ASLDE) is offering a new quick route to a class B Professional Educator certification for future 6-12 Special Education teachers, and AUM is part of this route!
Accreditation
The accreditation of the College of Education is by the Council for the Accreditation of Education Preparation (CAEP), the Council for Accreditation of Counseling & Related Educational Programs (CACREP) and all its programs are approved by the Alabama Department of Education.
Office of Student Services and Teacher Certification
The Office of Student Services and Teacher Certification can assist you with academic advising, securing internships, and applying for a Professional Educator Certificate from Alabama’s State Department of Education.
