The faculty and staff in the College of Nursing and Health Sciences are devoted to training the healthcare workforce of tomorrow. We have decades of experience in preparing future healthcare leaders who are trained to work in interprofessional teams, provide culturally competent care & assume a variety of professional roles.

The College offers affordable and flexible degree programs and post-graduate certificates that will lead you to rewarding careers in healthcare. We can help you prepare for a career in nursing, medical laboratory science or communication disorders. In Alabama and nationally, the projected job growth for trained and qualified individuals in these areas is much faster than average.

The Master of Science (MS) education program in speech-language pathology, distance education, at Auburn University at Montgomery is a Candidate for Accreditation by the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology (CAA) of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, 2200 Research Boulevard, #310, Rockville, MD 20850, 800-498-2071 or 301-296-5700. Candidacy is a “preaccreditation” status with the CAA, awarded to developing or emerging programs for a maximum period of 5 years.

School of Nursing

The Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) can be earned in a traditional face-to-face format. RNs who are licensed and hold associate degrees can earn a RN to BSN degree online. AUM partnership community college Concurrent ASN to BSN options are available online.

The fully online Master of Science in Nursing prepares you for a career as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) or a Nurse Educator. The Health Systems Leader track prepares you for positions as a nurse manager.

We also offer a post graduate Nurse Educator Certificate.

Medical & Clinical Laboratory Sciences

Medical lab scientists play a crucial role in the detection, diagnosis, and treatment of disease and helping people stay healthy. The Bachelor of Science in Medical Laboratory Science can be completed traditionally or with the MLT to MLS program for qualified associate’s degree holders who want to elevate their training to the bachelor’s degree level.

The faculty have over 90 years of combined experience in the field of medical laboratory science.

Communication Disorders

The Communication Disorders program is one of only a few in the country that provide undergraduate students direct clinical experience with patients. Graduates can work in Alabama schools, assist a licensed speech-language pathologist (SLP), or pursue graduate studies to become an SLP.

Faculty members hold certification by the American Speech, Language, and Hearing Association and licensure via the Alabama Board of Examiners in Speech Language Pathology and Audiology.

RN to BSN

If you are an RN and would like to take your career to the next level, AUM’s online RN to BSN program is the choice. The curriculum in the RN-to-BSN program is designed for RNs who have a diploma or associate degree in nursing and would like to earn a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). This program is offered totally online or in a hybrid format with partnership hospitals.
