Sexual Misconduct and Sexual Assault

Federal regulations require the University to provide contact information for filing complaints with its accrediting agency and with its State approval or licensing entity. A computer/data breach is any incident in which sensitive or confidential data are exposed, or are at risk of exposure to unauthorized persons. AUM’s Information Security Professionals are designated to lead response to all information security incidents on campus. We cannot overstate how critical information security is to the University. Compromised data or information can lead to severe financial losses and damage to our good name and reputation, adversely affecting students, faculty, collaborators in business, industry, and government, and researchers.

Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)

Concerns related to privacy, security and confidentiality of protected health information required by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) should be made in writing to the Auburn University Privacy Officer. The Privacy Officer will investigate all complaints in a timely manner and provide a written determination to the parties involved.
