Save the date for AUM Day of Giving
Twenty-four hours, with limitless opportunities to make a difference in the lives of Auburn University at Montgomery students.
Invest in the success of our students on Monday, March 25, during the annual AUM Day of Giving event. Make a tax-deductible gift in support of specific academic programs or colleges, scholarships, athletics or the university’s greatest areas of need. In this crowdsourcing event, participation matters more than dollar amounts.
Celebrating the 2024 AUM Athletics Hall of Fame class
Tickets are still available for the 2024 AUM Athletics Hall of Fame induction ceremony, which will be held on Sat., March 23, in Taylor Center 221-223. Doors will open at 7 p.m., with the program beginning at approximately 7:30 p.m.
Attire for the event is business/business casual.
The Class of 2024 includes Jatoria Carter (women’s basketball), Vignir Johannesson (men’s soccer), Dr. Bradley Moody (meritorious service), Taylor Powell (softball) and Rolando Vargas (men’s and women’s tennis coach).
Exploring the uniqueness of the South
AUM will soon welcome scholars and students from several states and countries to campus for the annual Southern Studies Conference, an interdisciplinary event exploring the region’s history, politics, literature, art, architecture and more.
The event will take place March 28-29, and registration is still open.
Keep up with AUM’s spring sports
AUM’s tennis, softball and baseball teams will each host Gulf South Conference opponents this weekend.
The men’s and women’s tennis teams will host Mississippi College Saturday at 11 a.m. The AUM men are coming off a win over No. 12 Ouachita Baptist University, while the 14th-ranked women split a pair of spring break matches against third-ranked St. Leo and No. 2 Nova Southeastern.
The 17th-ranked softball team, which split a doubleheader against No. 1 North Georgia last week and took two of three at Lee University, will host Union for a three-game weekend series. Game one will start Friday at 5 p.m.
AUM’s baseball team, which is receiving Top 25 poll votes, picked up its sixth win of the season against a nationally ranked opponent last weekend. The Warhawks will host a three-game series against Union, with Friday’s first pitch set for 5 p.m.
Beat the ‘after college blues’
If you’re graduating this semester or in the fall, you’ll want to join the Career Development Center for the “Life After College Conference” on Friday, March 29, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to Goodwyn Hall 109.
Professionals and peers will offer soon-to-be graduates helpful advice on preparing for the real world. Topics will include financial management for new professionals, common employment benefits and policies, and conquering the “after college blues.” Lunch will be provided.
Savor international flavors at the Cultural Festival
AUM’s 2nd Annual Cultural Festival in April will showcase music, dance and flavors from the many cultures represented within its campus community. The event will be held Saturday, April 6, from 3-7 p.m., at the AUM Athletics Complex and on The Quad.
Register in advance to help ensure enough food is available for all attendees. Students, faculty and staff interested in sharing their talents as performers are welcome to complete a brief survey.
