Wellness Center Policy And Procedures

Your Warhawk ID card is mandatory for entry to the Wellness Center. No exceptions. Disciplinary action will be administered to any person who gives or gains entry to the Wellness Center under false pretenses. (i.e. sharing cards, entering the building through non-access doors, accessing hot tub during non-business hours, falsifying dependents, etc.)

Assumption of Risk

  • Members are responsible for determining whether they have the proper fitness level to participate in activities in the AUM Wellness Center. Participants are strongly encouraged to consult with their health care provider(s) before starting any exercise program.
  • Participation in the AUM Wellness Center is voluntary. By voluntary using the AUM Wellness Center, patrons assume all risk of any harm or injury sustained. Patrons are required to sign an Assumption of Risk and Liability Waiver before they are allowed to use the facility.
  • Patrons are to be mindful of their actions and are not allowed to engage in activities that may harm other patrons or damage equipment.

Building Access

Members must have their Warhawk ID to access the Wellness Center. Members may not use another person’s Warhawk ID to enter the building. Otherwise known as “Card Sharing,” anyone caught using another member’s Warhawk ID will lose their Wellness Center privileges for 30 days or be trespassed from the facility (if a non-member).

Members without their Warhawk ID are given access to the Wellness Center only 3 times per semester. They must check in at the Front Desk to gain entrance. If ID is lost, replacement IDs are available for purchase at the Front Desk. (Faculty, Staff, and Students must purchase replacement IDs in the Warhawk Shop). Guests must have a state or government issued ID for access. Members and Guests may only access the building through the turnstiles or gate at the front entrance. Members and Guests may only exit the building through the turnstiles or gate at the front entrance. Members and Guests should not exit the building in the back of the building.  Staff of the AUM Wellness Center have the right to ask for proper identification at any time while a patron is in the AUM Wellness Center or using AUM Wellness Center space.

Building Access

  • Patrons are not permitted to bring food into the AUM Wellness Center.
  • Water and other sports drinks are allowed into the AUM Wellness Center. However, these drinks must be in a sealable, unbreakable plastic container. No glass containers are allowed.

Tobacco Products

The AUM Wellness Center follows university policy regarding the use of tobacco products in or around the AUM Wellness Center or controlled property. For the purpose of this policy, “Smoking” is defined as inhaling, exhaling, burning, or possessing lighted tobacco products, including cigarettes, cigars, pipe tobacco, and hookahs. This includes electronic or e-cigarettes.

Attire Policy

Patrons must wear proper athletic attire at all times; this includes a shirt that covers the torso, rib cage, and midriff. Shoes must be athletic closed toe and closed heel.

Firearms and Weapons

All weapons, including concealed weapons, are not permitted in the Wellness Center.

Aquatics

Pool rules are posted at the Wellness Center pool.

Patron Conduct

Use of the AUM Wellness Center is a privilege. Members and guests shall respect the rights of others and display acceptable and appropriate behavior while participating (in activity or being on site) in the AUM Wellness Center.

Inappropriate behavior includes, but is not limited to:

  • Verbal abuse
  • Physical abuse
  • Harassment
  • Obscene gestures or actions
  • Abuse of staff in any form
  • Abuse of property or equipment in any form
  • Profane and indecent language
  • Failure to abide by established policy

If a patron or guest is directed to leave the AUM Wellness Center, they must do so immediately. Failure to follow the instructions of staff will result in the AUM Campus Police being notified. Patrons and students may face further disciplinary actions by AUM Wellness Center staff or for students by Student Affairs.

Audio

Any audio (music, lectures, etc.) should be played on personal headsets, (i.e. ebuds or headphones) at a volume that cannot be heard by staff or other patrons. If a patron or guest is directed by staff to lower the volume of their audio, they must do so immediately.
