Join in on Homecoming Week fun
Homecoming 2024 offers something for everyone, including Chancellor’s Cup competition events, the Campus Activities Board Tent Party and SGA Pep Rally & Bonfire for students, the Friday night Alumni Association social for graduates, and pre-Saturday basketball game tailgating for everyone.
On Saturday, the 2024 Homecoming Court and Chancellor’s Cup winners will be announced during AUM’s women’s and men’s basketball doubleheader against West Georgia. Tailgating will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Clement Hall parking lot, while the tip-off times for the women and men will be 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.
Homecoming Court voting will begin Thursday at 8 a.m. Cast your votes through the MyAUM portal.
Going All-in for AUM Athletics
Help AUM Athletics provide a championship atmosphere for student-athletes by supporting the All-In for AUM fundraising campaign.
Every dollar raised directly supports AUM’s teams and student-athletes. Support the sport of your choice or allow AUM Athletics to apply your gift to its greatest need. Any gift of any amount will have an impact. The campaign will end Saturday, Feb. 10, at midnight.
Catch baseball and tennis teams at home
AUM’s tennis and baseball team will be playing at home this week.
The men’s and women’s tennis teams will host 7th-ranked Columbus State on Friday at 1 p.m., before opening Gulf South Conference play on Saturday against Shorter College at 9 a.m. The Warhawk men and women opened the season with victories over Middle Georgia State.
AUM’s baseball team will begin a three-game home series against Embry-Riddle (Fla.) Friday at 4 p.m. The teams will play again on Saturday at 1 p.m. and on Sunday at noon
AUM’s softball team, which opened the season with a 3-1 record in the Gulf Shores Invitational, will play four games this week in Longwood, Florida.
Celebrating Black History Month
AUM’s celebration of Black History Month will feature a variety of events, including Trivia Night, Spirit Week, a Mini Film Series and a discussion of the landmark “Brown v. Board of Education” case that expanded access to education.
Movie screenings will include “Harriet,” “Soul,” “Our Language and ”Bessie.”
Join Theatre AUM for open auditions
Are you a performer at heart? Theatre AUM is offering you an opportunity to step into the spotlight. If you haven’t yet participated in a Theatre AUM production, come to open auditions on Tuesday, Feb. 13, at 7 p.m. in the Taylor Center Theatre (second floor).

Apply for the Graduate Study Merit Scholarship
If you’re a current graduate student who has completed at least nine course hours and possess a GPA of 3.4 or better, you may be eligible to receive the 2024-2025 Graduate Study Merit Scholarship offered by the AUM Alumni Association.
To apply for the scholarship, submit the following documents to [email protected] (include “Scholarship Committee, AUM Alumni Association” in the subject line) by March 15:
- Your graduate GPA
- Two letters of support, preferably from AUM faculty or staff (on AUM official letterhead), emphasizing leadership attributes
- A 250-word essay outlining the applicant’s educational and career objectives, academic honors/civic activities, and how the award will benefit them.
