The Office of Accountability and Advocacy, a division of Student Affairs, is committed to assisting you in your personal, academic and social development.
The Office of Accountability is dedicated to judicial compliance and the enforcement of the Student Discipline Code. Compliance with the Student Discipline Code is essential to create an environment ideal for learning, as well as ensuring the safety of everyone on campus. Not only does the office promote appropriate student conduct, it also guarantees the AUM community is knowledgeable of campus guidelines and expectations.
We enforce the code with a student-focused approach infused with restorative components. Our office works with students (on-site and distance learners), faculty, staff, and student organizations to encourage compliance with university standards. Our office maintains appropriate records of student conduct and disciplinary actions.
The Office of Advocacy is available to assist the campus community in locating answers to questions, interpreting campus policies and procedures, and to promote awareness and learning in a non-academic setting. Additionally, we provide guidance to students, faculty, staff, parents, and guardians who experience distress, difficult needs and/or emergencies.
The office also develops peer-to-peer mentors who support their fellow students in navigating the campus. They work to ensure students are connected to community resources and engage them in campus projects. Our office and the Peer Advocate Program are here to empower students in their academic and social development through programming, personal interactions and resource guidance.
