AUM’s College of Education offers three graduate program options in both the Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education specialty areas:
Traditional Masters: For those who already hold an Alabama Class B Professional Educator Certificate and wish to broaden their knowledge base in elementary education leading to Class A Certification.
Alternative Masters: This master’s degree program is designed for students who do not have a bachelor’s degree in education, but want to teach at the kindergarten through 6th grade level. This degree prepares students to teach K-6 and obtain an Alabama Class A Professional Educator Certificate.
Education Specialist (EdS): This program is designed for students who have an M.Ed. degree/Class A Certification in elementary education and who wish to broaden their knowledge base in elementary education leading to Class AA Certification.
All of these degree options end in teacher certification, However, under some circumstances a non-certification option is available.
