The Office of Collaborative Partnership and Distance Education is responsible for creating partnerships between international and domestic universities and colleges. It is also responsible for creating pathways for undergraduate students, where students can successfully articulate their credit hours from community colleges to Auburn University at Montgomery and matriculate with a four year degree in the shortest period of time. Thus, the office also works with the local and surrounding colleges to form partnerships so students can transfer their community college credit hours, concurrently take classes at AUM and take their credits back to the community college(reverse transfer) and get an Associates degree from their respective colleges.
Similarly, our partnerships with school districts, independent high schools, and home school umbrella groups across Alabama enable junior and senior-level students to complete college-level courses for both college and high school credit, saving time and money toward an undergraduate degree.
Auburn University at Montgomery’s local initiatives focuses on the local community, its educational institutions and increasing the exposure of college and university studies to high school upper-classman.
Dual Enrollment is available to junior and senior high school students through online and on-campus offerings. Class schedules for dual enrollment participants are available. The AUM goal is to provide a college experience and potentially college credit while students are in high school. This initiative builds confidence in their abilities at the next level of education and still have the support network of their high school faculty, friends and family.
