The College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences offers students a traditional liberal arts education to meet the needs of the 21st century, allowing them to compete for a variety of careers in an increasingly complex and evolving world.
The College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences is one of the most comprehensive and diverse academic units in terms of its inventory of degree offerings at AUM. Students can graduate with a degree in Art, Communication, Criminal Justice, Economics, English, Fine Arts, History, Interdisciplinary Studies, Liberal Arts, Political Science, Sociology, Social Work, Spanish, Teaching Writing, and World Languages and Cultures.
We offer graduate programs in Economics, Homeland Security and Emergency Management, Liberal Arts, Criminal Justice, Political Science, and Public Administration.
The Joint Doctoral Program in Public Administration and Public Policy is a collaborative endeavor between the Department of Political Science and Public Administration at Auburn University at Montgomery and the Department of Political Science at Auburn University. In times demanding change, this doctoral program is designed to transform students into confident scholars, researchers, and policy leaders.
The College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences offers certificate programs in American Society and Culture, Museum Studies, Teaching Writing, State and Local Administration, Professional and Technical Writing, and Data Analysis and Policy Evaluation. In the future, the college is looking forward to offering a variety of other certificate options that will also be available online.
Minors are a great way to add expertise in a particular area of interest that is outside of your undergraduate major. The College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences has 28 minors currently being offered.
