Early Childhood and Elementary Education

The AUM College of Education’s childhood education program prepares students to become leaders as public or private classroom teachers, daycare teachers or directors, tutors, and educational publishing consultants.

Alternative Master’s Degree

This master’s degree program is designed for students who have undergraduate degrees in other fields but wish to become early childhood and/or elementary classroom teachers. The program emphasizes practical experiences in the classroom before graduation; students will have approximately 1000 hours of experience before entering the field. Class A Certification at the state level in early childhood education and elementary education will allow graduates to begin their careers at master’s-level salaries and be highly qualified to work with children from birth to grade 6.

Traditional M.Ed. Elementary Education – Online Program

This master’s degree program is designed for students who have undergraduate degrees/Class B Certification in elementary education and wish to broaden their knowledge base in elementary education leading to Class A Certification and a salary increase upon graduation.

Education Specialist Elementary Education – Online Program

This program is designed for students who have M.Ed. degrees/Class A Certification in elementary education and who wish to broaden their knowledge base in elementary education leading to Class AA Certification and a salary increase upon graduation.

Ed.D. - Early Childhood Concentration – Online Program

This program is designed for students who have a masters or educational specialist degree and who wish to pursue a terminal degree in Instructional Systems and Learning Sciences, Early Childhood Concentration. Completion of this degree will provide the graduates with an array of professional options from leadership to higher education.
