Warhawks make room for birds of a different feather

Auburn University at Montgomery Warhawks made room for Black Hawks on February 28 as a pair of Army UH-60 helicopters touched down on campus for exercises with the Army ROTC Mustang Battalion.

Nearly 60 Mustang Battalion cadets from AUM and other neighboring universities participated in field exercises that included learning how to safely load and unload the helicopters during military operations.

AUM’s Army Reserve Officer Training Corps focuses on preparing young men and women for the challenges of leading today’s Army. Housed within the AUM’s College of Liberal Arts & Social Sciences, ROTC is in conjunction with the regular classes in a selected major field, plus other general education requirements students need to earn a commission and enter the military as a Second Lieutenant.
