Warhawk Weekly 4-21: Day of Giving Countdown; Best of the River Region
The countdown to AUM Day of Giving begins
As AUM counts down to its 10th Annual Day of Giving on April 22, departments and programs across campus are inviting the AUM community to come together and be part of what’s next.
From academics to athletics, you have the opportunity to support the colleges and programs that have helped shape your AUM experience. On Day of Giving, your support means investing in student projects and key priorities while taking part in exciting matching challenges.
Momentum is building across campus, with areas like AUM Athletics rallying support to make an impact. Gifts to Athletics support team travel, enhance facilities, provide quality meals and create leadership development opportunities. That impact extends beyond competition on our courts and fields and is reflected in Athletics’ 50-year tradition of success, including two Gulf South Conference championships, four NCAA Regional appearances and a 3.5 department-wide GPA among student-athletes.
Tomorrow, join Warhawks everywhere in coming together to support AUM Day of Giving.
No matter where you choose to give, your gift makes a lasting impact.
Vote for AUM in ‘Best of the River Region’ awards
Readers of the Montgomery Advertiser have recognized Auburn University at Montgomery as the best university in the River Region for seven consecutive years.
AUM will have an opportunity to extend that streak – and collect honors in additional categories – in the Advertiser’s 2026 “Best of the River Region” Community Choice Awards. AUM earned nominations in three categories: Best College/University, Best Place to Work, and Best Hearing Aid/Hearing Specialist Center.
You can cast your votes for AUM in these three categories through April 28 at 11:59 p.m., with the winners and finalists in each category being revealed in July.
The annual awards honor a variety of local non-profits and businesses in more than 25 categories.
Honors Day: AUM to recognize top scholars
AUM Honors Day is a longstanding campus tradition celebrating students whose exceptional academic achievements, diverse backgrounds and contributions in and out of the classroom distinguish them as some of the university’s most outstanding scholars.
AUM will recognize its top undergraduate students from all disciplines from 2-3:30 p.m. on Friday, April 24, in Taylor Center 221-223.
AUM will also introduce its 2025-26 Chancellor Scholars, the highest honor bestowed by the university to one outstanding student from each of AUM’s colleges. Recipients will be named at the event.
A celebration of research and creativity
AUM’s Experiential Education and Engagement Center (EEEC) invites students, faculty and staff to explore student-faculty research projects at the 2026 Celebration of Research, Creative Activity, and Community Engagement on Friday, April 24.
This year’s celebration will take place from 8:30 a.m. to noon in Taylor Center 230, followed by student research poster presentations in the Goodwyn Hall lobby.
The annual event highlights student and faculty achievements through poster presentations, grant recognitions, and community engagement awards. Organized by the EEEC, the celebration showcases research and creative activity across AUM’s six colleges.
Spring Fling honors outstanding staff
AUM’s Staff Council recognizes outstanding staff for their contributions to the university and dedication to student success during its annual Spring Fling event. This year’s event will be held on Tuesday, May 12.
As part of the annual celebration, the council presents staff awards and scholarships. Full-time staff members who are enrolled as students at AUM may apply to receive a $100 scholarship to support their professional development. Five scholarship recipients will be announced at Spring Fling. The deadline to apply is Friday, May 1.
Established to foster collaboration and provide a voice for staff on campus issues, the Staff Council’s Spring Fling event is one of many activities hosted by the council to promote a positive work environment.
Commemorate Spring 2026 commencement
Spring 2026 graduates have the opportunity to celebrate their success, leave a lasting legacy and jumpstart their alumni journey by making a class gift.
Make a gift of $20.26 to the AUM college or program of your choice, and you’ll receive an AUM Commemorative Medallion to wear at commencement. Your gift supports future Warhawks and helps position more AUM students for success.
Order your Commemorative Medallion online at aum.edu/classgift and pick up your medallion in the Taylor Center lobby from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. on Wednesday, April 22. You’ll also have the opportunity to meet members of the Alumni Association team.
