“I chose to complete my graduate degree at Auburn University Montgomery (AUM), because they had and still have the premiere criminal justice degree programs in Alabama. The successful completion of a Master of Science in Justice and Public Safety [now Criminal Justice] degree at AUM positioned me for the role I now serve as a Deputy Commissioner. In fact, out of the 14 executive staff members currently serving the ADOC, three of us have the same degree from AUM. Without the education that I received at AUM, I would not have been guaranteed the professional opportunities that I’ve enjoyed throughout my career in the ADOC.” — Dr. Wendy Williams, Deputy Commissioner, Women’s Services, Alabama Department of Corrections “The completion of a Master of Science in Justice and Public Safety degree at Auburn University at Montgomery positioned me for the role I serve as an Associate Commissioner, and as I work with professionals within Alabama and on the national level.” — Steve Watson, Associate Commissioner, Plans and Programs, Alabama Department of Corrections
