Donor Societies

Chancellor’s Society: $1,000 - $9,999 Annually

The Chancellor’s Society was the first donor recognition group at Auburn University at Montgomery, and established in 1982.  Donors at this level have an opportunity to remain connected to the University and are invited to attend a yearly reception as our way of saying thank you.

A minimum annual contribution of $1,000 is required for membership.

Tower Society $10,000-$24,999 Annually

Names for Auburn University at Montgomery’s iconic Ida Belle Young Library Tower, the Tower Society is a premier annual giving society, recognizing those donors who generously share their resources annually in order to affirm and sustain the University. Each year, donors are invited to dinner to honor their commitment to AUM. This event provides an opportunity for donors to become better acquainted with AUM’s leadership and socialize with others who support the University at this level.

A minimum annual gift or pledge of $10,000 is required for membership.


1967 Society: Cumulative Gift of $25,000 and Above

The 1967 Society, named for the year in which Auburn University at Montgomery was established, is one of the most prestigious donor societies at AUM. It recognizes donors whose lifetime philanthropy, on behalf of AUM, reach $25,000. This exclusive society of generous and devoted AUM supporters provides funds for university priorities including scholarships to support bright and worthy students, and additional funds that assist in recruiting and retaining distinguished faculty.

Due to the significant the commitment recognized by the 1967 Society, donors at this level are invited to participate in several AUM activities each year. These activities range from receptions to a yearly semi-formal recognition event which includes all 1967 Society members and inductees. Such spirited and informative occasions provide an excellent opportunity for donors to increase their interaction with university administrators, faculty and staff; view university facilities; and socialize with other significant donors. All 1967 Society donors receive a personalized memento commemorating their commitment to AUM.

1856 Society – $100,000 and Above

Named for the year in which the East Alabama Male College (now Auburn University) was established, the 1856 Society is the most prestigious donor society for Auburn University and AUM. It recognizes donors whose lifetime irrevocable gifts on behalf of AUM reach $100,000 and above.

George Petrie Society – Planned Gifts

No one has ever bequeathed more to Auburn University than the beloved Dr. George Petrie. For this reason, the society for Auburn University and AUM planned giving benefactors has been named in his memory.
