In professional practice, sculptors are intuitive and creative visual artists who work with a variety of materials that they carve, build, and cast to make a finished piece of art. A minor in Sculpture at AUM can provide a solid foundation for a life-long sculpturing practice or a basis for other fine arts skills you might develop.
Traditional methods of construction are taught through working with wood, metal, and casting. Students will also expand on their ability to create with new technology, such as 3D modeling, 3D printing, and other new forms of media. Experienced faculty provide constructive feedback and encourage students in a small-class environment.
The course listings below are a representation of what this minor requires. Select elective courses may also be included. Students may have to take additional courses to fulfill the prerequisites of the required courses.
