AUM College of Business achieves candidacy status for MHA program accreditation
Auburn University at Montgomery’s College of Business has achieved candidacy status with the Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Management Education (CAHME) for accreditation of its Master of Healthcare Administration (MHA) program.
The work and contributions of Dr. Michael McEachern, faculty, and staff in the College of Business helped the MHA program achieve CAHME candidacy. According to CAHME, candidacy status serves as indicator that “a program in healthcare management has voluntarily committed to participate in a plan of self-improvement and is actively progressing toward the status of accreditation.”
Throughout the candidacy process, AUM’s College of Business will continue to work toward full CAHME accreditation of the MHA program.
AUM’s Master of Healthcare Administration is a professional degree focusing on developing business leaders who can manage complex environments and drive innovation in hospitals and other healthcare entities. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the employment of medical and health services managers is projected to grow 32 percent from 2020 to 2030, much faster than the average for all occupations.
Offered online and on campus, AUM’s MHA program is designed to introduce students to industry issues such as healthcare economics, healthcare marketing, policymaking, human resource management, and information systems management.
