AUM celebrates success of Fall 2024 graduates

Auburn University at Montgomery will celebrate the success of more than 630 students during a pair of Fall Commencement ceremonies on Saturday at the AUM Athletics Complex.

More than 630 students are expected to earn degrees, marking one of the largest graduating classes in university history. Graduates of the Colleges of Business and Nursing and Health Sciences, as well as the University College, will be recognized at 10 a.m. Graduates of the Colleges of Education, Liberal Arts & Social Sciences, and Sciences will follow at 2 p.m.
Experience Montgomery Chief Destination Officer Ron Simmons, an AUM alum, will address graduates during both ceremonies. Simmons guides efforts to enhance local tourism for the destination marketing arm of the Montgomery Area Chamber of Commerce. A native of Montgomery, Simmons earned a bachelor’s degree from AUM with an emphasis in marketing and was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army Reserves from AUM’s ROTC program in 1987.
During the morning ceremony, AUM will award a pair of posthumous degrees – a Bachelor of Science in business administration to the late Austin Collett and a Master of Science in Management of Information Systems to the late Sujith Babu Gunturu.
