Dr. Karen M. Landers, M.D.,F.A.A.P. Dr. Karen Landers is a 1977 graduate of the UAB School of Medicine. She completed her residency in pediatrics at the University of Tennessee Center for the Health Sciences, LeBonheur Children’s Hospital and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in 1980, where she was recognized as one of the outstanding pediatric residents by Chairman of the Department, Dr. John F. Griffith. Dr. Landers is life-time certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and continues voluntary maintenance of certification in this specialty. Dr. Landers has served many roles within the Alabama Department of Public Health for over forty years. She worked in the COVID 19 Pandemic Response as a co-lead for scientific response and was the Medical Consultant for the ADPH Media Team, providing media interviews at the local, state, national, and International level. Dr. Landers is currently the Chief Medical Officer for Alabama Department of Public Health.
