Discovering English and Philosophy Degrees Event
Discover the possibilities in English and Philosophy! We look forward to welcoming current high school students and their families to showcase courses, specialties, publications, and student work. If you are interested in Literature, Creative Writing, Professional and Technical Writing, Digital Humanities, and, possibly, Secondary Education/Language Arts, you won’t want to miss this!
You’ll engage in activities connected with department initiatives. The stations and activities include the following:
Workshops (15 minutes each)
- Creative Writing (Dr. Kent Quaney)
- Professional and Technical Writing (Dr. Shannon Howard)
- Undergraduate Research / Activities (Drs. Heather Witcher and Seth Reno)
- Southern Studies (Dr. Catherine Gooch)
Itinerary
- 10:00-10:30 Refreshments
- 10:30-12:00 Students in small groups for workshops
- Parents meeting with Admissions and Financial Aid
- 12:00-01:00 Lunch in AUM Café with faculty and current English majors
- 01:00-01:30 Optional campus tour
