The purpose and aims of the AUM NAACP shall be to improve the political, educational, social, and economic status of minority groups across Auburn-Montgomery’s campus and surrounding community; to eliminate racial prejudice in all forms; to keep the Auburn-Montgomery Community aware of the adverse effects of racial discrimination; and to take lawful action to secure its elimination, consistent with all efforts of the national organization. Additionally, the objectives shall be to inform students of the issues affecting all people of color, to advance the economic, educational, social, and political status of all people of color and their harmonious cooperation with other people, and to stimulate an appreciation of African American contributions to society. The major focus of the youth and college division of NAACP is to develop intelligent young leaders.
