AUM named top university in River Region for ninth consecutive year

For the ninth consecutive year, Auburn University at Montgomery (AUM) has been recognized by readers of the Montgomery Advertiser as the best university in the River Region.

Additionally, AUM was named a finalist for Best Hearing Aid/Hearing Specialist Center in the River Region.

The Advertiser’s 2026 “Best of the River Region” Community Choice Awards celebrated the area’s most outstanding nonprofits, businesses and institutions, with winners chosen by the local community. The annual awards recognize organizations that contribute to the vibrancy and growth of the Montgomery area.

AUM was among 133 winners recognized at the Best of the River Region Awards Gala held Tuesday, July 7 at the Renaissance Montgomery Hotel & Spa at the Convention Center.

The event not only highlighted the achievements of the winners but also provided a platform for networking and celebration.
