As a military spouse, you serve.  You serve your military spouse, household, community, and country.  Your schedule is unpredictable and circumstances change rapidly.  In a military lifestyle, you must be prepared and ready.  AUM understands and provides education access that can accommodate your situation.  With many programs fully online with flexible schedules and affordable tuition, you have an education support system wherever life may take you.

As an added benefit for military spouses and dependents you may qualify for a 15% undergraduate tuition scholarship or 35% graduate tuition scholarship. Every student’s path is a little bit different and we are here to help you navigate maximizing your benefits and scholarship opportunities.  Contact the Veteran and Military Resource Center via email at [email protected] or by calling 334-244-3799 to talk about your personalized plan to get started.

Here are some things you can do to get started:

  • Start educating yourself on the financial tools available to qualifying dependents of service members and veterans
    • Apply for VA Benefits through the Department of Veterans Affairs (make sure you keep your confirmation number)
    • Offers several scholarships to military personnel, both past and present.
    • Fill out the FAFSA to check eligibility for additional aid and loans
  • Apply to Auburn University at Montgomery. Check out our admissions requirements for both first time students and transfer students.
  • Begin gathering your applicable forms. Forms may vary pending your specific situation, but you can get a head start by gathering the following:
    • VA Benefit Confirmation
    • Copy of Certificate of Eligibility from the VA
    • Military Transcripts
    • ACT Test Scores / Other Transcripts as applicable
  • Attend Orientation and Register for Courses

Our classes start three times per year, so you can begin soon after being admitted to the university.
