The ISL, located in the Goodwyn Hall, provides free tutoring that focuses on math, science, computer technology, nursing and other science-related subjects. Just show up during our operating hours and we’ll pair you with an available peer tutor! You can also call the ISL during these hours and request to meet with a tutor online.
The WASC is here to serve you. We can work with you in person, via email, phone, Zoom, or Blackboard Collaborate.
People
Our Greatest Resource. Outstanding tutors work with you to create a unique and dynamic learning environment.
Books / Tests
Current and Available. We keep the most recent editions of the textbooks and solution manuals used by AUM’s math and science faculty, as well as retired tests in several subjects.
Models
We’ve Got Guts. Anatomy: From single cells to full torsos, we have a generous collection of A&P models. Boxes and boxes of elements and bonds for you to create 3-D structures of the molecules you love to learn.
General Policies
BE PROACTIVE: The ISL has a staff of dedicated tutors, 24-feet of white board, current textbooks, solution manuals, retired tests, A&P models, atomic models, Windows and Linux Operating Systems, a printer and a photocopier… and it’s all here to help you be successful in your classes.
BE FLEXIBLE: Tutors may shift between students and small groups in order to give help to as many students as possible.
BE RESPECTFUL: Be aware of the learning experience of those around you. Keep your language clean and eat meals elsewhere.
BE REALISTIC: We will partner with you if you put forth reasonable effort, but we will not enable academic irresponsibility.

Juan Rodriguez
Algebra, Calculus, General Biology, General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry
Hey Warhawks! My name is Juan Rodriguez, and I’m a Biology and Chemistry major at AUM. I am an ISL tutor because when I first needed help with a subject, the tutors at the ISL gave me that and even more to be successful in class! I currently tutor College Algebra all the way to Calculus 1, General Biology 1 and 2, Microbiology, and General Chemistry 1 up until Organic Chemistry 1.
Aditya Singh
Math, Physics, Coding
My name is Aditya, and I am pursuing computer science as my major because I love to do coding. I tutor all the math courses that ISL offers, and I can help you with physics 1 as well as “Introduction to Programming with Python” along with “Functional Programming with C++”. The reason why I became a tutor is that I believe in the concept of learning by sharing and there are many incidents through which I have explored and learned different things in order to help my tutees. Furthermore, I love to dive into the interesting discussion of a mathematical or scientific concept which makes it easier for me to help my peers imagine those concepts. Moreover, I love to help others with their classes so much that I even used to teach my high-school classmates. ISL is one of the best resources at AUM and I motivate you to take full advantage of it.
“Learning gives Creativity, Creativity leads to Thinking, Thinking provides Knowledge, Knowledge makes You Great.”
Aryavardhan Singh
Math, Physics, Computer Science
Hello! My name is Aryavardhan Singh, and I am a Computer Science major here at AUM. I tutor all Math courses through Calculus 2 and would be eager to help you with Physics 1 and introductory Computer Science courses. I became a tutor at Instructional Support Lab because teaching and sharing knowledge is something I am passionate about, and it has helped me and my tutees tremendously in our professional and academic pursuits. I love to tackle problems and doubts that my tutees may have in a manner that consolidates their foundations and it has helped them to be more confident in their own skills. I am excited and look forward to work with you!”
Narender Naik
Mathematics
Hello, my name is Narender, and because I enjoy coding, I’m majoring in computer science. I am an ISL math tutor and can assist you with formal language theory of computation in “programming with c++” and “computer architecture”. Being a tutor is something I do because I firmly believe in the idea of learning by teaching others. There are many ways I’ve investigated and acquired new knowledge to benefit my tutees. Additionally, it is easier for me to aid my peers in visualizing a mathematical or scientific notion when we can go into an intriguing debate of that concept. I have also tutored my fellow graduate students because I love to help people with their academics so much.
I encourage you to fully utilize ISL, which I believe to be one of AUM’s best resources, because “Learning offers Creativity, Creativity leads to Thinking, Thinking provides Knowledge, and Knowledge makes You Great.”
