Department of Criminal Justice and Sociology

The Criminal Justice and Sociology Department offers four degree programs; two undergraduate programs in Criminal Justice and Sociology and two graduate programs in Criminal Justice and Homeland Security and Emergency Management. We also offer additional concentrations and minors within the degree programs.

College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences offers students a traditional liberal arts education to meet the needs of the 21st century, allowing them to compete for a variety of careers in an increasingly complex and evolving world.

Criminal Justice

The Auburn University at Montgomery undergraduate program in Criminal Justice offers the Bachelor of Science degree to the student seeking comprehensive education for a professional career in the Criminal Justice field. This major provides broad academic preparation in both general education and Criminal Justice.

Sociology

Sociology is a vital discipline within the social sciences that examines the complexities of human interactions, social structures, and the dynamic forces driving societal change.

Criminal Justice Master's Degree

A master’s in criminal justice can build opportunities and sharpen critical skills or serve as an entry point for a competitive job, such as a position at a federal agency.

Homeland Security and Emergency Management

Whether it be a response to an attack or the restoration of order in the midst of panic, professionals are needed who are trained for leadership and ready to react.

In addition to other AUM scholarships awarded, the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences offers excellent scholarship opportunities to students throughout the academic school year.
