Why use Accommodate?

Get to Know the Accommodate System

Accommodate is far more secure than alternative file-sharing methods such as email. That is because it’s a cloud-based system- where information is stored in a virtual server. By using Accommodate, we significantly reduce the odds of sensitive information (such as student documentation, faculty-uploaded exam materials, etc.) being intercepted by unauthorized parties.

Accommodate is a fully ADA compliant interface that improves our ability to service students. It allows students to seamlessly submit requests, connect with note-takers/transcribers, have assistive devices checked out electronically, and more. The Accommodate portal offers convenience for instructors as well. For example, it allows them to view (and approve) each of their students’ accommodation letters in one centralized location. And whenever students sign up to take an exam at CDS, instructors are notified automatically via email. These signups can also be viewed at any time by logging into the portal.

Given the current state of the environment, having a recycling bin in the office isn’t enough to save the planet. By using a paperless cloud platform like Accommodate, we can cut down on waste, improve energy efficiency, and ultimately leave less of a carbon footprint.
