Are you leaning toward a degree in business but want to explore different fields before choosing a specialization? Are you working full-time and need the convenience of online courses? The General Business concentration in the Business Administration degree program is a great choice for students who want flexibility in how they earn a degree, and is the only College of Business major that may be completed online. Many students start their college journey as General Business majors and change to a business specialization that matches their career goals. Other students choose General Business to accommodate their work/family schedule or because they like the idea of developing a wide spectrum of business knowledge and skills.
Students whose intended career paths include working with global companies and who are able to complete courses in an on-campus learning environment may choose the International Business option of the General Business major. This option combines training in marketing and management with an appreciation for cultural differences that affect business relations in the global marketplace.

With the General Business concentration and some hands-on job training through internships, you’ll have an opportunity to pursue careers in marketing, sales, human resources, finance, and operations. Official Name of the General Business Degree
Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a specialization in Management
Many classes in this degree program are available in both an In-Class and/or Online format. Students may elect to complete the entire program online. Students in these courses enroll in a program to connect in a virtual and/or in-class environment to collaborate using a variety of technological and educational tools. Professors play an instrumental role in building relationships among teams and individuals in this setting. All course criteria for online programs is completed through online efforts. Be sure to check with your advisor if you have any questions regarding online studies.
The accounting specialization consists of eight courses: seven required to provide students with the knowledge and skills generally expected of all entry-level accountants and three accounting electives that students can choose based on their career path. Students planning to sit for the Certified Public Accountant (C.P.A.) Examination in Alabama must satisfy certain requirements by the Alabama State Board of Public Accountancy. AUM stands ready to guide you through this challenging but rewarding option.
