Sports Nutrition Minor

Program Description

As part of the Kinesiology Department in the AUM College of Education, the Sports Nutrition minor provides you with a strong foundation in nutrition principles and assessment in the context of sport. It is an ideal minor for students who plan to pursue a career in–or have a strong interest in–physical education, health and fitness, coaching, corporate wellness or similar fields.

Students must complete fifteen hours in the following three-credit hour courses:

PHED 4210 Nutrition Assessments
PHED 4220 Lifecycle and Community Nutrition
PHED 4240 Metabolism and Function of Nutrients
PHED 4280 Metabolism and Function of Nutrients II
PHED 4950 Advanced Topics in Sports Nutrition
