Campbell, which will be on view through March 23. Campbell serves as an Assistant Professor of Fine Art at Auburn University. UNIV is a commitment to AUM’s mission to exemplify excellence through education, as well as the institution’s emphasis on increasing retention, persistence, and graduation rates. We designed UNIV to help students foster a connection of belonging at AUM and provide the skills needed to engage with their classes in a way that promotes academic advancement and persistence through graduation. Specifically, the course orients students to AUM’s academic expectations; introduces them to AUM services in place to support their academic success; guides them through professional, academic, and personal goal-setting processes; and provides a peer cohort with whom they experience their first semester. In addition to providing professional development, resources, supplies, and support, we create the course syllabus and build the course in Blackboard for you. Undergrad research abstract submissions due this weekThe AUM College of Arts & Sciences will host its annual undergraduate research symposium on Fri., Apr. 13, in the lobby of Goodwyn Hall. All undergraduates currently or previously taking part in research projects at AUM are eligible to present. Graduate student participation is limited to groups in which the graduate student directly mentored one or more undergraduates. Abstracts should be electronically submitted to John Hutchison with a CC to Shannon Howard no later than March 23 using the available submission form. The email abstract submission should have a subject line containing: “2018 UGR Symposium Abstract Submission.” Please submit only one abstract per email. If your abstract requires formatting not supported by the PDF form then you are welcome to attach a Word document with the abstract formatting exactly as you would want it to be displayed in the program. You do not have to be a member of the Wellness Center to gain access to weigh-in; however, with a signed membership agreement and guess pass you will be allowed 9 weeks of access as a non-AUM Wellness Center member employee. The Wellness Center is offering an AUMazing prize of its own—a one-year membership will be given to the team selected in a random drawing if both team members each lose 10 pounds. Your team may be composed of individuals outside of campus, but they will only be eligible for prizes awarded by Scaleback Alabama. The program lasts eight weeks, beginning Mon., Jun. 4 and ending Fri., Jul. 27. All eligible students are welcome to apply. The application and a letter of recommendation from a school guidance counselor or a Montgomery County Commissioner must be submitted by Fri., Apr. 20at 5 p.m. FAQs and more information on the apprenticeship is available at www.mc-ala.org.
