Gaillard is a renowned author of non-fiction pertaining to the American South. Among his many books is 2005’s Cradle of Freedom: Alabama and the Movement That Changed America, winner of the 2005 Lillian Smith Book Award for Best Southern Non-Fiction and the Alabama Library Association’s Non-Fiction Book of the Year. He will speak on “The Sixties and the American South.”
