New Student Convocation set for Friday

Auburn University at Montgomery Chancellor Carl A. Stockton will welcome first-year Warhawks to campus during the New Student Convocation on Friday at 10 a.m. at the AUM Athletics Complex.

New students will meet in the Taylor Center at 9:30 a.m. for a procession to the Athletics Complex. New students are asked to wear their AUM Orientation T-shirts. Read more about the New Student Convocation.

Registration continues for campus parking

Registration for campus parking permits for the 2019-2020 academic year continues.

Students, faculty and staff should register their vehicles online through the MyAUM portal. Parking decals will be available for Wednesday and Thursday (8 a.m. to 6 p.m. in Taylor Center 222). Visit  www.aum.edu/parking for an updated pickup schedule and locations.

If you do not register your vehicle online, you may bring your vehicle information (tag number, year, make, model and color) to Campus Police in Taylor Center 267 before obtaining a parking decal. Here is a breakdown on the decal options:

Non-resident students (and students registering for additional general parking permits): Payment is not required when you pick up your decal. The parking decal fee is charged to your student account. For questions about your account, please contact the Student Accounts Office.

Resident students: There is no additional charge for residential parking permits. Resident student parking is restricted to residence hall lots. If you wish to add a general parking pass that allows you to park in other campus locations (including the Wellness Center lot), you may register for the housing/general permit. The additional fee will be charged to your student account.

Faculty/Staff parking: Options for faculty and staff include:

  • General permits are available at no charge. After registering your vehicle, simply pick up your permit(s) at Campus Police in Taylor Center or other locations designated for pickup.
  • Reserved faculty/staff permits cost $75 per employee. After registering your vehicle, you may pay for your permit through WebPay Bill Payment in the MyAUM portal. Print your receipt and bring it to Campus Police to collect your permit. You may also pay with cash, check or credit card at the Office of Student Accounts in Taylor Center. Take your receipt to Campus Police to obtain your permit.

To register your vehicle:

  • Log into the MyAUM portal
  • Select the Webster Registration System link from the lefthand navigation
  • Click on “AUM Vehicle Registration”
  • Accept the terms for AUM Parking Registration and enter your mobile phone number or another contact number for when you’re on campus
  • Request your permit. Select your preferred parking option from the list of choices
  • Select the academic term for your permit request
  • Enter your vehicle information if it is not already on file
  • Print two copies your temporary permit (one to display in the rear driver’s side window and one to maintain as a receipt you’re paying for your permit online or at the Office of Student Accounts)
  • Pay for and pick up your parking permit

Ride with AUM Pride

Students, faculty and staff can ride with AUM pride while supporting student scholarships by purchasing a new Auburn University at Montgomery license plate. Faculty and staff will only pay a $5 administrative fee for reserved parking if they purchase or have purchased an AUM license plate. Faculty and staff who have never registered for a reserved parking hangtag will receive their first at no charge when presenting a copy of their AUM license plate tag receipt.

During each successive decal registration period, faculty and staff members who renew their AUM license plate will continue to only pay the $5 administrative fee.

Nominations for Alumni Professorship accepted through Aug. 30

The AUM Alumni Association sponsors an Alumni Professorship to recognize outstanding AUM faculty who best exemplify excellence in teaching, research, scholarly and creative accomplishments, and service.

Current AUM faculty members who have at least 10 years of full-time service at AUM are eligible for this honor. Alumni Professorship recipients will serve a three-year, non-renewable term and receive an annual salary supplement of $2,500.

For more information about this award, or to submit a nomination, please visit http://www.aum.edu/alumni/alumni-home/alumni-professorship.

Wellness Center challenges students and faculty/staff to get fit!

The Warhawk and Workplace Wellness Challenges will be starting September 2 and running through October 14! During this six-week challenge for all AUM students, faculty, and staff, fees will be waived for participants who are not already Wellness Center members.

With teams of two, you can participate in Wellness Center Challenge events, attend group fitness classes, and complete a simple self-monitored exercise routine to gain points. At the end of six weeks, the top three teams with the most points will be awarded prizes.

Registration for the Challenge is open August 19–30 online. Only one team member needs to register!

Apply for Fall Graduation!

If you plan to graduate this fall, please apply online through the MyAUM portal until August 30.
