Princeton Review ranks AUM among best colleges in Southeast

The Princeton Review recently recognized Auburn University at Montgomery as one of the top universities in the Southeast on its “2020 Best Colleges: Region by Region” list. The education services company based its assessment on such factors as academic program quality, admissions data, safety, quality of life and qualitative feedback derived from surveys of students and administrators at peer institutions.

New Student Convocation set for Aug. 23

Auburn University at Montgomery Chancellor Carl A. Stockton will welcome first-year Warhawks to campus during the New Student Convocation on Fri., Aug. 23, at 10 a.m. at the AUM Athletics Complex.

New students will meet in the Taylor Center at 9:30 a.m. for a procession to the Athletics Complex. New students are asked to wear their AUM Orientation T-shirts. Read more about the New Student Convocation.

Registration continues for campus parking

Registration for campus parking permits for the 2019-2020 academic year continues.

Students, faculty and staff should register their vehicles online through the MyAUM portal. Parking decals will be available for Wednesday and Friday (8 a.m. to 6 p.m. in front of AUMazing Bean). Visit  www.aum.edu/parking for an updated pickup schedule and locations.

If you do not register your vehicle online, you may bring your vehicle information (tag number, year, make, model and color) to Campus Police in Taylor Center 267 before obtaining a parking decal. Here is a breakdown on the decal options:

Non-resident students (and students registering for additional general parking permits): Payment is not required when you pick up your decal. The parking decal fee is charged to your student account. For questions about your account, please contact the Student Accounts Office.

Resident students: There is no additional charge for residential parking permits. Resident student parking is restricted to residence hall lots. If you wish to add a general parking pass that allows you to park in other campus locations (including the Wellness Center lot), you may register for the housing/general permit. The additional fee will be charged to your student account.

Faculty/Staff parking: Options for faculty and staff include:

  • General permits are available at no charge. After registering your vehicle, simply pick up your permit(s) at Campus Police in Taylor Center or other locations designated for pickup.
  • Reserved faculty/staff permits cost $75 per employee. After registering your vehicle, you may pay for your permit through WebPay Bill Payment in the MyAUM portal. Print your receipt and bring it to Campus Police to collect your permit. You may also pay with cash, check or credit card at the Office of Student Accounts in Taylor Center. Take your receipt to Campus Police to obtain your permit.

To register your vehicle:

  • Log into the MyAUM portal
  • Select the Webster Registration System link from the lefthand navigation
  • Click on “AUM Vehicle Registration”
  • Accept the terms for AUM Parking Registration and enter your mobile phone number or another contact number for when you’re on campus
  • Request your permit. Select your preferred parking option from the list of choices
  • Select the academic term for your permit request
  • Enter your vehicle information if it is not already on file
  • Print two copies your temporary permit (one to display in the rear driver’s side window and one to maintain as a receipt you’re paying for your permit online or at the Office of Student Accounts)
  • Pay for and pick up your parking permit

AUM License Plates: Students, faculty and staff are encouraged to support student scholarships by purchasing a new Auburn University at Montgomery license plate. Faculty and staff will only pay a $5 administrative fee for reserved parking if they purchase or have purchased an AUM license plate. Faculty and staff who have never registered for a reserved parking hangtag will receive their first at no charge when presenting a copy of their AUM license plate tag receipt. During each successive decal registration period, they will only pay the $5 administrative fee if they continue to display a renewed AUM license plate.
