AUM baseball to play at Riverwalk Stadium

Finding Your Rainbow: LGBTQ+ interest meeting
Counseling and Health Promotion Services will be sponsoring Finding Your Rainbow: LGBTQ+ Group.
This group will be focused on exploring issues of sexual, gender, and romantic identity. Participants will learn about different models of identity development, explore how their sexual, gender or romantic identity interact with their emotions, beliefs, behaviors, relationships and society, and what challenges might arise from these interactions.
Goals for participants might including self-discovery, exploring personal identity, understanding the experiences of others, personal growth, support during transition into or challenges within their sexual/gender/romantic identity, and promoting a sense of hope for the future.
Any member of the LGBTQ+ student community is welcome, including allies and those who may be questioning their sexual, romantic, or gender identity. To find out more about the group, please join the interest meetings on Wednesday and Thursday, February 13–14.

Theatre AUM presents Matt and Ben
Theatre AUM’s production of Matt and Ben opens Feb. 14.
In 1997, boyhood friends Matt Damon and Ben Affleck won an Oscar for their screenplay Good Will Hunting. The success of the film had a remarkable impact on the careers of the young actors, turning Matt and Ben into household names. This delightful comedy by Mindy Kaling and Brenda Withers, tells the story of Hollywood’s golden boys, before anyone knew who they were, when the screenplay for Good Will Hunting mysteriously drops from the heavens.
Matt and Ben runs Feb. 14–16, 21–24. Show times are 7:30 pm. Thursday through Saturday with a Sunday matinee at 2 p.m. Tickets are $10 for general admission. Senior citizens, students, and military tickets are $5. AUM students, faculty and staff are free with AUM ID.

20th Annual Vigil for Victims of Hate & Violence
AUM Spectrum will host a screening of the documentary “Assault on Gay America,” as well as a vigil for victims of hate crimes and violence.
The PBS “Frontline” documentary chronicles the brutal 1999 killing of Alabamian Billy Jack Gaither, who was targeted because of his sexuality. Interwoven into his story is a larger examination of anti-gay violence and the attitudes, beliefs and fears that have led to it.

Self-defense course offered for students, faculty and staff
AUM Campus Police will sponsor a self-defense class. The free event is open to AUM students, faculty and staff. The class will be taught by members of the Auburn University Rape Aggression Defense, or R.A.D., program. Participants are encouraged to wear clothing and shoes suitable for exercise.

Political Film Series schedule set
Auburn University at Montgomery’s College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences will feature a pair of World War II-focused movies, as well as a documentary on Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, in its 2019 Political Film Series. The screenings are free and open to the public. Complimentary popcorn and sodas will be available for attendees. The film series schedule can be found at www.aum.edu/politicalfilms.
