Mathematics professor investigates potential solutions for catastrophic power blackouts
A $105,281 grant from the National Science Foundation will enable assistant professor of mathematics Tianran Chen and research partners to explore potential solutions to prevent catastrophic power failures. Chen and his partners will work on developing new computational methods and tools that will help electrical engineers better understand the stability and resilience of power networks.
Career Development Center offers portable expertise
The Career Development Center is willing to bring its expertise on job searches, interview preparation, resume development and other topics to classrooms, student organizations and alumni groups. All you have to do is ask.
The center has created a new Presentation Request form that students, faculty, staff, alumni can use to request career development presentations from Career Development Center staff and employer partners. Simply complete the online request form, and the Career Development Center team will contact you to arrange a date and time that are convenient for you.
Ride with AUM Pride
Students, faculty and staff can ride with AUM pride while supporting student scholarships by purchasing a new Auburn University at Montgomery license plate. Faculty and staff will only pay a $5 administrative fee for reserved parking if they purchase or have purchased an AUM license plate. Faculty and staff who have never registered for a reserved parking hangtag will receive their first at no charge when presenting a copy of their AUM license plate tag receipt.
During each successive decal registration period, faculty and staff members who renew their AUM license plate will continue to only pay the $5 administrative fee.
Nominations for Alumni Professorship accepted through Aug. 30
The AUM Alumni Association sponsors an Alumni Professorship to recognize outstanding AUM faculty who best exemplify excellence in teaching, research, scholarly and creative accomplishments, and service.
Current AUM faculty members who have at least 10 years of full-time service at AUM are eligible for this honor. Alumni Professorship recipients will serve a three-year, non-renewable term and receive an annual salary supplement of $2,500.
