New Computer Lab locations and hours
The Goodwyn Hall 205 Computer Lab is now a classroom. However, there are four other computer labs open to all students on the 1st floor of Taylor Center, room 208 in the College of Education, Clement Hall 217, and the 2nd floor of the Library Tower.
More information regarding hours of operations is available AUM’s IT Services.
Jake Owen’s tour comes to Montgomery
Through AUM’s community sponsorship with the Montgomery Biscuits, discounted tickets are available to Jake Owen’s “Life’s Whatch Make It” tour with special guests Chris Jansen and Jordan Davis!
For all AUM students, faculty and staff, tickets are $15 for Bowl seating and $20 for Field General admission. You must order tickets online using the promo code AUM, but this offer expires Thu., Aug. 23 at 5 p.m.
Doors for the performance will open at 6 p.m. and the show begins at 7 p.m. Pleas visit BiscuitsBaseball.com for additional event details.

Faculty, Staff Information: New Student Convocation
New Student Convocation is scheduled for Fri., Aug. 24 at 10:30 a.m. Faculty and staff, please plan to welcome the AUM Class of 2022!
Students and faculty marshals are requested to meet in the Taylor Center at 9 a.m. for preparation. Light refreshments will be provided and students will have the opportunity to meet and engage with their peers.
Faculty and staff are asked to convene in the Athletics Complex lobby at 10 a.m. Faculty, please arrive in your regalia. As in years past, faculty and staff are asked to line the hallway surrounding the gym so that they can welcome the new students in the AUM spirit tunnel.
New Student Convocation committee members will assemble in the lobby of the Athletics Complex in order to provide direction and guidance.
Faculty: Send in Study Abroad proposals
Do you want to turn your class into an unforgettable experience? Are you interested in creating and leading a Study Abroad course for spring or summer 2019?
Study Abroad is now accepting faculty-led program proposals for 2019! Faculty can find the 2019 Faculty-Led, Short-Term Study Abroad Handbook on AUM’s Study Abroad website.

Nominations now open for Faculty Service Award
The AUM Alumni Association sponsors an alumni faculty service award to recognize outstanding AUM faculty. To be eligible for this honor, faculty must have five or more years of full-time service at AUM. This honor will be conferred during the fall semester convocation and the recipient will receive a $1,000 check from the Alumni Association.
Nominations by AUM faculty, staff, students, alumni and friends must be submitted or postmarked by Aug. 31. Nomination letters should be no more than two pages in length and should emphasize teaching excellence as well as a strong record of service to the university and community. A vita may be attached, if available.

Strike Out Stigma Night at the Montgomery Biscuits
Counseling and Health Promotion Services and NAMI OnCampus invite students, faculty, and staff to strike out mental health stigmas!
The Alabama Department of Mental Health, the Council on Substance Abuse-NCADD, community partners, and the Montgomery Biscuits are hosting Strike Out Stigma Night to offer information and resources on mental illness and substance abuse.
Community partners at the event will offer information on services and opportunities for those in need and their families, including:

- Wings Across Alabama
- Montgomery Mental Health Authority
- Council on Substance Abuse
- Samaritan Counseling Center
- Mental Health America Montgomery
- CARESS Peer Support Specialists
- Central Alabama Veterans Health Care System: CAVHS Transition Care Management and CAVHS Homeless Veteran Outreach
- Respect Initiative
