Message from Chancellor Carl A. Stockton

As you may be aware, last week President Trump signed executive orders addressing several immigration topics. These Executive Orders have the potential to affect foreign national students, faculty, and staff in our campus community. While the conversations continue in our country, we want to take a moment to emphasize that, consistent with our core values, Auburn University at Montgomery is committed to the diversity of people and perspectives with a culture of inclusiveness. We will continue to stand by those values.

For those of you who may be directly affected by the Executive Orders, we want you to know that we are here to support and assist you.

At this time, we encourage all individuals from Syria, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Yemen, Iraq, and Sudan to remain in the United States and to postpone any travel plans to leave the United States for the foreseeable future. We also advise that travel be postponed for foreign nationals from other countries, not included in this order, who are currently in the U.S. and will need to apply for a new visa stamp during their next trip outside the U.S.

To our international students who may have questions, please reach out to our Office of Global Initiatives at 334-244-3375. Our impacted employees who may have questions related to their immigration status, or for those with international travel plans for themselves or their dependents, should direct their questions to our Office of Human Resources at 334-244-3641.

We value the contributions that a diverse culture brings to the overall educational environment at Auburn University at Montgomery, and we look forward to continuing to serve all of our international students, faculty and staff.
