Healthcare Administration

In today’s economy, healthcare providers are facing dynamic change in consumer demand, the regulatory environment and technology. Our Master of Healthcare Administration (MHA) program provides students with knowledge and skills needed to effectively plan, market and provide high-quality services.

In this program, you can earn your graduate degree in as few as three semesters with the flexibility to take classes entirely online or opt for some face-to-face classes. Teaching methods include cases, discussion groups, interprofessional projects and more. Qualified applicants should have completed an undergraduate degree from an accredited institution and may need to take the GMAT.

Through 2028, healthcare occupations are projected to add about 1.9 million jobs; that’s more jobs than any other category of occupations. Business leaders specially trained for this vital job sector are needed to drive innovation and provide administrative management for healthcare organizations large and small.

A Master of Healthcare Administration is a professional degree that focuses on developing business professionals who can manage hospitals and other healthcare entities. In this interdisciplinary  master’s degree program, students will touch upon issues such as healthcare economics, healthcare marketing, policymaking, human resource management, and information systems management.

Put Your Degree to Work

Employment of healthcare occupations is projected to grow 14 percent from 2018 to 2028, much faster than the average for all occupations. This projected growth is mainly due to an aging population, leading to greater demand for healthcare services.

The median annual wage for healthcare practitioners and technical occupations (such as registered nurses, physicians and surgeons, and dental hygienists) was $66,440 in May 2018, which was higher than the median annual wage for all occupations in the economy of $38,640.

Healthcare support occupations (such as home health aides, occupational therapy assistants, and medical transcriptionists) had a median annual wage of $29,740 in May 2018, lower than the median annual wage for all occupations in the economy.
