In today’s economy, healthcare providers are facing constant change in consumer demand, the regulatory environment and technology. The Master of Healthcare Administration (MHA) program provides students with knowledge and skills needed to effectively plan, market and provide high-quality services in an ever-changing environment.
In this program, you can earn your graduate degree in as few as three semesters with the flexibility to take classes entirely online or opt for some face-to-face classes. Teaching methods include cases, discussion groups, interprofessional projects and more.
The MHA Program at Auburn University is now a member of the Higher Education Network (HEN) of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE).
Through 2028, healthcare occupations are projected to add about 1.9 million jobs; that’s more jobs than any other category of occupations. Business leaders specially trained for this vital job sector are needed to drive innovation and provide administrative management for healthcare organizations large and small.
A Master of Healthcare Administration (MHA) is a professional degree that focuses on developing business professionals who can manage complex environments in hospitals and other healthcare entities. In this interdisciplinary master’s degree program, students will touch upon issues such as healthcare economics, healthcare marketing, policymaking, human resource management, and information systems management.
AUM’s MHA program provides students with the knowledge and skills needed to effectively plan, market and provide high-quality healthcare services. In today’s economy, healthcare providers need specialized business executives to help them thrive amidst dynamic change in consumer demand, the regulatory environment and technology.
You can complete this graduate degree in as few as three semesters with the flexibility to take classes entirely online, or opt for some face-to-face classes.
The School and the professional Healthcare Administration community are linked by AUM’s Healthcare Administration Advisory Board , which advises the School in determining the direction of its instructional and non-instructional programs, and assisting with the placement of graduates.
Employment of healthcare occupations is projected to grow 14 percent from 2018 to 2028, much faster than the average for all occupations. This projected growth is mainly due to an aging population, leading to greater demand for healthcare services.
Healthcare support occupations (such as home health aides, occupational therapy assistants, and medical transcriptionists) had a median annual wage of $29,740 in May 2018, lower than the median annual wage for all occupations in the economy.
