Fine Arts

Program Description

AUM Fine Arts students learn from renowned instructors who have exhibited their work nationally and internationally — and they have opportunities to exhibit their own work in our student gallery on campus, in local galleries, and in regional and national design competitions.

Visual Arts, our general Bachelor of Arts in Fine Arts option, teaches students the traditional principles, methods, techniques and art historical background for building specialized roles in the field, emphasizing personal expression and specialization for preparation to become a practicing artist, graphic designer or candidate for graduate programs. The Art History option is also offered under the B.A. Fine Arts.

Points of Pride

  • AUM Fine Art students routinely submit their work to national and local shows, exhibitions, and competitions, often earning top prizes.
  • Associate Professor Andrew Hairstans has had his work accepted for the international art journal Studio Visit and has exhibited in New York and Glasgow.
  • Goodwyn Gallery hosts exhibitions by visiting artists and advanced students.
