You are invited to a special viewing of the documentary The Harvest: Integrating Mississippi’s Schools to commemorate the 70 anniversary of the milestone court decision in Brown v. Board of Education (1954)/ Following a 45-minute screening of the documentary, there will be a discussion.

Subject: The current state of public education and racial integration in Alabama and the United States more generally.

Documentary Description: Massive White resistance in Mississippi to the United States Supreme Court’s Brown vs. Board of Education decision delayed school integration in the state for 16 years. In this documentary, Pulitzer Prize-winning author Douglas A. Blackman looks back at how school integration transformed his hometown of Leland, Mississippi
