Get to know the Get to know the Industrial Organizational Track
Lab experiences are a cornerstone of the student journey at AUM. With eight labs ranging from Clinical Psychology to Cognitive Behavior and Legal Psychology to Social Cognition there is a subject matter of interest for students.
Tuition is roughly half of the cost of other major universities in Alabama that offer a similar program, just $421 per credit hour for Alabama residents and $463 for non-residents.
Depending on your interests and work experience, it could open up a whole new set of options! If you are in the HR field now, it could lead to pay increases and/or management opportunities.
This degree track is 100% online and asynchronous, so you’ll work on your schedule. It is designed for you to take two classes each semester and graduate after five semesters.

Students are not required to have a psychology degree. If students performed well in their other program of study, they will still be considered for admission.
The Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology reports that the top five competencies to succeed in the field are critical thinking, verbal communication, ethical behavior, interpersonal skills, and accountability. Experiences such as “collaborating with people from different teams on various projects” were also deemed vital.
Develop training programs. Mediate disputes. Prepare scientific or technical reports. Collect information from people through interviews or surveys. Administer standardized physical or psychological tests. Coach employees. Assess job candidates. Evaluate performance of individuals.
