Alabama National History Day

Alabama National History Day

Alabama’s State Affiliate for the National History Day Competition

National History Day challenges students to research a topic within a yearly theme, and then create a competitive entry as a paper, exhibit, documentary, website or performance. Students compete either as individuals or with a group, and in Junior (6-8) or Senior (9-12) divisions. State winners move on to National competition each June at the University of Maryland.

The 2017 Theme Sheet for National History Day provides guidance and ideas for approaching the entry for the competition.

Join our Facebook group for ongoing communication about preparation and competition details.

The College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences offers students a traditional liberal arts education to meet the needs of the 21st century, allowing them to compete for a variety of careers in an increasingly complex and evolving world.
