AUM hosts Constitution Day Conference

Today marks the 232^nd anniversary of the signing of the U.S. Constitution. You can get in on the celebration during AUM’s Constitution Day Conference hosted by the Department of Political Science and Public Administration in the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences. AUM political science faculty and visiting experts will discuss “American Law and Courts” during sessions beginning at 11 a.m. in the West Room of the Library Tower.

Retired Air Force colonel works to boost partnerships

Auburn University at Montgomery’s efforts to build partnerships with corporate, educational and military entities are in trustworthy hands. After all, new senior manager of collaborative partnerships Sherry Stearns-Boles once held a high-level security clearance as a nuclear intercontinental ballistic missile launch officer in the U.S. Air Force.

Introducing Curtiss Check-Ins

As part of a fresh approach to student success, Auburn University at Montgomery is proud to introduce “Curtiss Check-In” as a replacement for “Warhawk Warnings.”

With Curtiss Check-Ins, students can now receive kudos from their professors acknowledging the positive contributions they’re making in classes in addition to alerts when it appears they may be in need of help.

Faculty can still access the Curtiss Check-In system through the MyAUM portal. Learn more about the Curtiss Check-In notification system or contact our Student Success and Retention team at 334-244-3230.

University offers active shooter training

The AUM Police Department will offer an active shooter training session on Fri., Sept. 20, from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. in Taylor Center 222. The session is open to all students, faculty and staff and will provide training on actions that can be taken if individuals find themselves in a dangerous or threatening situation, as well as training on making split-second decisions that can save lives and prevent injury.

Submit nominations for AUM Athletics Hall of Fame

AUM’s Department of Athletics seeks nominations for its Hall of Fame class for 2019.

The Hall of Fame is open to former student-athletes, coaches and other individuals who have made significant contributions to the success of AUM Athletics. The nomination deadline is Friday, Oct. 4. Nominations may be submitted by completing an online form. Contact Assistant Director of Athletics for External Relations Tim Lutz will questions.

AUMazing Health & Wellness Fair set for Oct. 15

The AUMazing Health & Wellness Fair, set for Tues., Oct. 15, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Taylor Center, will equip students, faculty and staff with a variety of information and resources focused on encouraging habits of wellness, increasing factors and resources contributing to well-being and inspiring individuals to take responsibility for their health.

Career Development Center offers portable expertise

The Career Development Center is willing to bring its expertise on job searches, interview preparation, resume development and other topics to classrooms, student organizations and alumni groups. All you have to do is ask.

The center has created a new Presentation Request form that students, faculty, staff, alumni can use to request career development presentations from Career Development Center staff and employer partners. Simply complete the online request form, and the Career Development Center team will contact you to arrange a date and time that are convenient for you.
