Pamela Burns

A native of Atlanta, GA, Dr. Pamela-Teresa Burns received the Bachelor of Music Education degree from Alabama State University, the Master of Music from Southern Illinois University and the Doctorate of Musical Arts degree from the University of Alabama. Dr. Burns currently serves as Professor of Voice at Alabama State University

Dr. Burns is talented in both the classical and the dramatic arts. Brief credits include a CD performance of Poulenc’s Gloria, numerous performances with the Montgomery Symphony Orchestra, Frederick Douglass Hall Community Singers, Montgomery Chorale and memorable encore performances with operatic legend William Warfield in Gershwin‘s Porgy and Bess. She is a two-time regional winner of the Metropolitan Opera Vocal Competition. She also serves as a consultant to the Montgomery Symphony Orchestra’s Vann Institute of Voice. Dr. Burns was recently awarded the ”ASU Legacy in Music Award for Excellence in Music Education.”

Dr. Joel C. Jones, a native of Chicago, Illinois, earned a Bachelor’s degree in Music from Talladega College, a Master’s degree in Piano Performance and Pedagogy from Northwestern University, and a D.M.A. in Piano Performance and Pedagogy from the University of Iowa. He is currently serving as Associate Professor of Music and Director of Choral Activities at Alabama State University.
