School of Business

Message from the Dean

Dean Rhea Ingram portrait.

Thank you for your interest in Auburn Montgomery’s School of Business. We are excited about you visiting our website. I encourage you to explore what the School of Business has to offer.

Located in the capital city, our business school has established relationships with many businesses, alumni, government and nonprofit leaders. We do this with you - the student - in mind. Our business students have many opportunities to interact with community leaders inside and outside the classroom. These activities involve guest speakers in classes, active student organization meetings, internships, site visits, and more. In addition, our students are provided real-world experiences. For example, marketing students, through a class project, are responsible for an annual fundraising event for the School of Business working with local organizations. Students within a management course set criteria, solicit applications, and select a winner for a local ethics award. The Accounting and Finance Department organizes career preparation activities, bringing local CPA’s and finance firms to campus.

The School of Business is also proud of its faculty. These professionals understand the importance of academic research, which allows the transfer of current knowledge within their discipline. Many business professors are not only involved in research projects, but are also professionally qualified through certifications and professional development activities within their field. As a result, several business faculty have been honored with awards and distinctions for their classroom instruction.

Students, faculty, staff, and business partners alike seek a standard of excellence. Auburn Montgomery’s School of Business is the only AACSB accredited school within the Montgomery area. This distinction puts the school in the top 5 percent of business schools internationally.

Thank you for your interest. We hope to see you soon. Please feel free to contact me if you would like to learn more about the school.

Sincerely,

W. Rhea Ingram, Ph.D.
