Business Student Survival List

    1. Drop in on class ... every day, every class, especially the first one!
Studies have shown that A students miss less than one class per 45, while C students miss more than four.

    2. Find time to study ... every day.
Try to develop a routine whereby you study each subject at the same time, same place each week.

    3. Work on your hardest subject ... first!
Putting them off until you are tired only compounds the problem.

    4. Study as much as possible ... during the day!
What takes you an hour to do during the morning or afternoon may take two hours at night.

    5. Get involved on campus ... in at least one organization!
Students who are involved in extracurricular activities tend to be happier and more successful in the classroom.

    6. Meet at least one faculty member ... each semester!
Your teachers can be your most helpful contacts on campus.

    7. Develop study groups ... for each of your classes!
Studies show that students who study with someone routinely make better grades.

    8. Make use of university services ... the Learning Center, Accounting Lab, etc.
Ask questions. "I didn't know" and "I didn't understand" are never excuses.

    9. See your advisor ... each term!
Find your adviser and make plans for the next year.

    10. Don't take all your classes ... back to back!
You will wear yourself out, and will miss the best time to study - right before and right after class.
