Dr. Paul M. Sharp is Professor of Sociology with specializations in criminology, child and juvenile delinquency, and deviance. As an accomplished teacher, Professor Sharp strives to motivate his students to take full advantage of the university experience while at AUM and to carry that same philosophy into their careers. His primary research agenda in the field of crime and delinquency has resulted in numerous professional publications and presentations including textbooks, periodicals and consultations. He is currently researching the death penalty in Alabama, single parent families and convict criminology. Dr. Sharp works in the community with agencies dealing with families of those incarcerated, at-risk youths and school violence.
